Getting to machu picchu by plane

Machu Picchu is the most typical symbol of the Inca empire. It was re-discovered in 1911 and it is still in perfect conservation.

The city is located in the province of Urubama in the department of Cusco, Peru.

The nearest airport to Machu Picchu is in Cusco city. From Cusco is necessary to take a train to the town of Aguas Calientes and then a bus to Machu Picchu.

Cusco can be reached by plane directly from other airports in Peru and from La Paz, Bolivia.
